OMGWTF!

  • Aug. 6th, 2009 at 1:49 AM

........
School has just reopened & everything is going ho-hum these days. Why does it feel like i'm not learning anything much benificial to my future?

On a better note, chilling out with the dudes after class & cracking incredibly lame jokes make time fly by & met up with JL who I have not seen for almost 2 years! Not forgetting shoping & makan sessions with darling dearest... Thess pictures have been taken the past few days. 3 megapixels isn't working out in this age anymore. Time to get a DSLR!!!!

Joel sniggering @ seemingly nothing

The Hyperbole of Reality

  • Jul. 23rd, 2009 at 3:18 PM

Can't wait to officially start up my clothing label soon. It's a great chance for me to further explore the creative realms. This space has been left untouched for so long, the days gone like a memoir lost in the vortexes of life.

"Just like the white wing dove
sings a song, sounds like she's singing:
Oooo baby Oooo say Oooo"

The way time flies...

It's funny how as human beings, we all take time for granted when we actually have so little of it to go by. Into my holidays for almost a week & what better time to think than now.

As i was trawling through my old pictures just the other night, i realized how much change i have been through. We all grow up & as we do, things start to look different, we have a new perception of the past & everything becomes hilarious.

Not only me, but the people around me have changed so drastically that sometimes, i just don't recognise them anymore. It's all whizzing by, taking ages in the moment, but a split second in reminince. Wonderful, innit?

What Internet Slang Are You?

  • Mar. 12th, 2009 at 11:46 PM

You Are FAQ
For you, the internet is like your personal library. And you know more facts than fifty normal humans.
Your brain is basically lot a computer at this point. You have a lot of information stored up there.

You spend hours looking up obscure information and learning things. If you have question, you always Google it.
You can't help but be a bit of a know-it-all. You can answer everyone's frequently asked questions.

Who watches the Watchmen?

  • Mar. 7th, 2009 at 2:02 PM

I just watched "Watchmen" & i gotta say, it was fantastic! I loved how it is actually an analogy of events that happen during the cold war & the characters were interesting. ('prolly cause they're not mainstream like spiderman or superman) Zack Snyder did a fantastic job, just like in 300. The action sequences are a blend of art & excitement. I am a new fan of his stuff. (p.s. time to pick up the Sin City dvd...)

The inner geek in me is tempting me to buy the DC Direct action figures just so i can pose all the watchmen on my shelf. I'm drooling thinking about it already...

"Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix

  • Dec. 5th, 2008 at 2:23 PM

Well shes walking through the clouds
With a circus mind thats running round
Butterflies and zebras
And moonbeams and fairy tales
Thats all she ever thinks about
Riding with the wind.

When Im sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
Its alright she says its alright
Take anything you want from me, anything
Anything.

Fly on little wing,
Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing

Beautiful lyrics to a beautiful song...

The Starless Sky

  • Oct. 22nd, 2008 at 12:48 AM

The black & starless sky, stares back at me from behind the flats
Things are running through my mind, an image of children playing on dusty mats
My mind wants to be blank but yet is filled with thoughts i'd hate to comprehend
Maybe i'm staring too much at the archless sky, maybe lights right around the bend...

The black & starless sky, stares back at me from behind the flats
What does it feel like to be in another's shoes, something i would like to know
But if i knew, then what would be, if i was dealt another blow?
Maybe i'm staring too much at the archless sky, maybe it's for God to show...

Wanderlust II

  • Oct. 14th, 2008 at 11:56 PM

OKAY! So after school today, went to Containart Pavilion with Joel to explore more of the Biennale 2008! I mainly went for "The Art of the T" exhibition but it was a disappointment!...

"Containart Pavilion" by Shigeru Ban

Ain't it an organic beauty!?

So anyways, this temporary building/structure, was created by Shigeru Ban to house much of Singapore's arty-farty stuff. It's made from recycled cardboard & shipping containers which were donated by APL. (as if the LARGE logos weren't obvious enough!)

LOOK HOW TEENY JOEL IS NEXT TO IT!

Alrightyyy, so just outside of the Containart Pavilion was this art piece titled: "Flight". It was awe-inspiring, i gotta tell ya! Massive, it is! See for yourselves~

"Flight" by Alfredo-Juan & Maria Isabel Aquilizian

So, it was basically this MASSIVE field of sticks, with a slipper gorged to the top. You could actually walk into the exhibit & that was the awesome part!!!

Help me! The impaled slippers cried~ T_T

Against the backdrop of office 'scrapers (how pretty~)

& just for you to see how HUGE each stick was, i stood next to it (imagine being impaled through one of 'em huge-ass satay sticks!!!!)

Gosh, it was TALL...

Yeah, & ummm... So anyways, we finally walked into the CP building.

Upon entering, you'll be greeted by this HUMONGOUS in-your-face mural. Say's something about why & how the place was built (half-arsed to really read it...)

So just below it are some benches, chairs & tables. This is supposedly also an artwork, titled: "Wonder Wrap" by
Gary Carsley.

"Wonder Wrap", Gary Carsley (2008)

Nope, he ain't part of the art work...

Yea & going on, we came across this shipping container with a black curtain covering it... I was intrigued as i heard weird noises coming from it...

?????????????????????????????

So, i slowly peeled open the curtains & voila, it was actually another art pieces (video) titled: "Floating" by Yuan Goang-Ming.

"Floating" by Yuan Goang-Ming

Next up, "Location(6)" by Hans Op de Beeck. Very, very cool exhibit. You had to walk into this white carpeted tunnel & at the end of it, you get to sit down on white beanbags & look out a few windows...

The Entrance

Venturing into the icy-looking tunnel, you'll see a snowy vista which looked absolutely realistic i tell ya:

2 of the 3 small windows in the observatory

Gosh, see how realistic that is!!??

& finally, "The Art of the T" exhibition, which was a MAJOR disappointment!!!! I expected it to be a large air-con museum to admire the artwork on the tees, but all it was is 6 no air-con boxes!!!! I only took pictures of the "I <3 Rock N' Roll" section/box, but the other 4 were boring...

"The Art of the T" entrance (1 of 6)

Rock legends of yesteryears'

ACDC-inspired apparel

& off we went... but please go take a look for yourselves as there are a few exhibits that i didn't take pictures of, either because they were too scary/creepy or i felt it was BORING...

This ain't the end, i still have more Biennale 2008 to experience. So look out for a "Wanderlust III" like seriously soon!

Wanderlust

  • Oct. 12th, 2008 at 2:36 AM

It's been probably nearly 3 months since LaSalle started; about 4 weeks more till the end of semester 1 of Interactive Art.

It's been much nicer than my days in NYP & i'm actually motivated enough to complete my homework & assignments on time. I really feel that i'm developing my artistic potential more & more each passing day. What i REALLY want now, is to successfully start up F.A.D.E Designs. BUT, it hasn't been real easy...

What i've learnt fairly recently, is that things take time to form. I can't just expect to pull a few friends in & expect it to work fast. Ideas take time to develop... & not everyone can commit the time & effort. But i'm confident that the next time, i will succeed!!!

& what is with this sudden feeling of wanderlust? i just feel like going everywhere & seeing everything... & i really, seriously hope to form up my design crew seriously soon...

But HOHO, i'm going to start up a side-label with a friend of mine soon. it's gonna be a 2-person team. Damn, do i want my own tee-shirts!

Anyways, been to the SG Biennale 2008 yesterday. Was pretty awesome.

Cover's 3 venues: City Hall, South Beach Development & SG Flyer
Pricing: $5 for students & $10 for everyone else. SG Flyer is a seperate $25.
Inc.
of a Biennale 2008 Guide Book ($6 otherwise.)

I've only been to the City Hall venue & some of the exhibits were seriously awesome. Pity i only took a picture of 1 exhibit as i was too busy exploring the place!!!! "Maggots" was huge plastic maggots crawling & squirming all over the floor & stairs of City Hall. Man, that was seriously awesome. I mean, how often do you see huge bugs crawling all over the floor. (even though they're fake!)

Ben-David, Zadok, Blackfield, 2008

This exhibit was very well made. It's basically this field of immaculately-made paper flowers that were coloured on one-side & black on the other. The artist wanted to create an impression that things are not what they seem. When you look at it, it's a field of beautiful & blooming flowers. But on the other side, it's burnt & scorched. Show's you how 2D the world really is...

The Black Side

The Coloured Side

Pardon the picture quality, broke ass & only have a 3 mpx cell-phone =(

Oh & furthermore, there is another exhibition happening @ Containart Pavilion titled: "The Art of the T".

The coolest of the bunch! I haven't been there yet but as i'm in the midst of doing some fashion designing, i've so gotta go!~

Yeah, so anyways... that's all i've got. School yet again coming monday & i've yet to do much on my Major Project. But thankfully, Creative Writing presentation is over! Was a mad rush to get it done, but managed to pull through anyhoo...

Time to put my heart into doing things & not leave the around...! Bless me!~
